Third Advent – Flood of Mercy

Focus Statement:Repentance opens us to the flood of mercy that turns our fears into joy and replaces what is fruitless with abundance. God’s aim is not to destroy but to clean up what is dirty and renew what is worn out.

Call to worship:

Leader: Sing aloud, O people, shout out your worship in a loud voice!

People: God takes away the judgment against us; there’s no need to fear disaster.

Leader: The Lord, our God, exults over us with gladness, singing loudly as on a day of celebration.

People: God delivers us from all that oppresses us, hanging our shame into praise.

All: We are saved not because we are good but because God is good.

Glenlea  Announcements & Upcoming Events:

December 16th – Candlelight service at 6:30 PM There will be coffee served downstairs after the service, could every family please bring a plate of cookies or dainties to share with friends & neighbours. Thank You.

December 23rd  – Regular Sunday School and Church Service

December 25th – No Sunday School; Service at 10:00 AM

December 30th – No Sunday School; Service at 11:00 AM

Choir practices for the Christmas candlelight service are now happening! We meet every Sunday at 9:00 and there will be 6 practices plus a dress rehearsal December 15.

*Reminder: Anyone who has church bills for 2012 and would like to be reimbursed, please hand them in to Vic or Judy before Dec 31st. Thank you.

Mennonite Collegiate Institute will be presenting their Annual Christmas Concerts on Thursday, Dec 20, 7:30pm and Friday, Dec 21, 7:30pm in Buhler Hall, Gretna. Everyone is welcome!
