Well, early anonymous Christian, that’s a good quote. It even sounds slightly mathematical in flavor. Thanks. Now, what I’m about to say appears to be unrelated to Matthew 5 (from whence the above quote, I would guess) but a really good preacher can conjure up a sermonic anecdote from just about anything. We’ll leave it to our pastor to find a connection:

I promised that I’d do the Ride for Refuge cyclathon on my own time. That time happened this past Monday — an absolutely gorgeous fall day that simply begged me to get on my wheels and fulfill my promise to you! So I grabbed my printout of the Ride for Refuge circuit and cycled off to its official Starting Point. The route took me through beautiful countryside that I hadn’t seen before as I soaked up the natural peace and quiet which is common in rural Canada. What a precious gift to reside in this beautiful/bountiful land and call it home! While others voted, I roaded – which is not to say I didn’t vote!

For those of you who WOULD have supported me on the Ride for Refuge team, I now leave you with the opportunity to send a cheque in any amount you choose to Mennonite Church Canada. Your blessing will be even greater since now your ENTIRE donation will go to MC Canada! I’d love to know if you make such a donation (feel free to let me know), but that’s certainly not necessary and your donation will be gladly received in any case.
