The MHC Archives is looking for individuals or churches to sponsor framed photos on conscientious objectors (CO) themes.  The archival photos will be on display at the launch of MHC’s upcoming CO documentary, The Last Objector this summer.  To sponsor a  photo for our launch please contact Korey Dyck at 204 888 6781 x 193 or (e) kdyck@mennonitechurch.ca .

CMU

1. Did you know Canadian Mennonite University now offers a major in Environmental Studies? Launching in Fall 2016, it is grounded in the natural sciences and will provide students with knowledge of the underlying scientific principles and processes required to understand environmental issues. 2. “Dinner With Ted 3” –  June 3 | 5:00 – 7:00 PM | CMU Dining Hall | 600 Shaftesbury Blvd. Alumni are invited to come to eat chicken fingers and fries! This is a free event. Consider bringing a donation in support of the International Student Bursary Fund, which helps international students study at CMU. RSVP by 5 PM on Friday, May 27 by emailing Aaron at aepp@cmu.ca. If you have a significant other and/or kids, they are welcome to come! Gluten-free and vegetarian options will be available.

Special event: Stories of courage from Palestine and Israel – Thursday, May 26, 7:30 pm, Join us as recently returned MCC Palestine and Israel representatives Daniel Bergen and Joanna Hiebert Bergen share their experience through the stories of five courageous people they grew to know and love. SpringFest 2016 – MCC’s annual SpringFest is coming up on the weekend of May 27-29. Join us at 134 Plaza Dr in Winnipeg for the quilt show and sale, plant sale, walkathon and BBQ lunch–all raising funds to support MCC partners in Uganda and South Sudan. Free workshop: “Supporting Refugees who have Experienced Trauma” – We would like to invite you to attend this workshop if you would like to learn more about the impact of trauma and how to support refugees who may be dealing with it.
