MCC summer positions – MCC Manitoba is accepting applications for two summer positions. Spend 14 weeks working with MCC’s Migration and Resettlement program or facilitating literacy and gardening programs with Sam’s Place. Apply by April 27. Special event  – Wed., April 20, 2016 – 7 pm. Join former journalist and current MKO Grand Chief  Sheila North Wilson for a screening of 1200+ , her documentary exploring how and why many Indigenous women and girls go missing or are murdered in Canada. It shows viewers that the tragedy of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls affects us all and that we can all be part of the solution. Sam’s Place – 159 Henderson Hwy.

Spring Choral Concert: enjoy performances by the CMU Singers and the CMU Men’s and Women’s Choruses on Saturday, April 23, 7:00 PM at the Loewen Athletic Centre, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd.

Graduation Service: Sunday, April 24 at 2:30 PM, Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 955 Wilkes Ave. The graduation address will be given by Sister Lesley Sacouman, reflecting on the Jubilee Year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis in 2015.

Camp Assiniboia is accepting applications for the position of Head Cook.  Hours of work are from 12 pm to 8 pm, Monday to Friday for July and August. Reserve your spot by May 2nd for our Mother’s Day “Over and Above” Fundraising Lunch at Camp Assiniboia.  The lunch will be held on Sunday, May 8th at 12:00 PM.  Choose between an indoor banquet: $15 adults, $5 children (5-10 years) or outdoor BBQ: $12 adults, $5 children (5-10 years).  Special music will be provided by Paul Dueck and David Hogue.  For reservations, call Camp Assiniboia at 204.864.2159 (ext. 104). This year, any funds “Over and Above” what we normally raise will go towards building four new cabins at Camp Assiniboia this summer.  So come treat your mom to lunch and at the same time support a great cause!
